Job Description:

INTERMITTENT ADJUNCT MSSR INSTRUCTOR EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON PROGRAM NEEDS AND AVAILABLE FUNDING .

This is a fully remote work position.

Master of Sustainability, Security, and Resilience adjunct instructor position. There will be a standard syllabus and course content for online delivery that will be hosted through OU’s LMS . The qualified candidate will update materials, teach, and engage with students from a distance and will leverage the collaboration, feedback, discussion, and grading tools in OU’s LMS .

The Master of Sustainability, Security, and Resilience ( MSSR ) course instructor will review and update online learning materials as needed, engage students in learning that meets the course and weekly learning objectives; moderate weekly discussions and encourage quality participation from students; provide meaningful feedback to students on discussions; provide tutorial assistance during established virtual office hours when applicable; assist in creating a positive and supportive learning environment for students; and provide timely grading of assignments and discussions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Public Policy or Political Science, Public Administration; Environmental Studies or Science, Social Sciences; Education, Research Methods, or related degree required by the start date of the appointment.

At least seven (7) years of experience related to Energy Systems and Policy. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

Strong organizational and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Environmental Studies or related field

Previous experience teaching online.

Evidence of successful graduate teaching.

Commitment to active learning and use of technology in the learning process
