Elmet Technologies LLC IT Service Desk Technician in Euclid, Ohio
Elmet Technologies is a leading producer of the high-performance metals including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium.
We are currently sourcing candidates for a IT Service Desk Technician at our Euclid, OH facility. This person will be responsible for the deployment, administration, and support of corporate IT solutions for the office and manufacturing operations in the Euclid, OH facility. This role is the primary point of contact for IT support for staff at this facility. Technologies include: Microsoft Windows, WAN/LAN/WLAN, SharePoint, M365, VoIP telephony, CAD/CAM software. This role is part of a larger corporate IT infrastructure team and will collaborate with the team regularly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Building, deploying, and support of Windows workstations including laptops, desktops, and engineering workstations, as well as servers
Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals over email, phone, and in person.
Administration and support of corporate M365 applications including Sharepoint Online, Teams, and collaboration tools such as Polycom VoIP and video solutions, several CAD/CAM solutions
Administering and auditing NTFS file permissions according to policy
Onboarding and training new users
Develop, implement, and maintain global IT procedures to support infrastructure needs and to meet business requirements.
Occasional support required outside of standard business hours.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or area of specialty.
Technical Certifications preferred e.g. A+, Network+, CCNA, ITIL Foundation
At least 5-7 years relevant experience.
Strong communication and customer service skills are an essential requirement for this position.
Fluent English
Experience with Active Directory including group policy, Exchange Online, and Windows Security implementation.
Experience with automated Windows OS deployments or imaging such as SCCM or Autopilot
Experience with MDM management of corporate iPhone and Windows workstations, e.g. Intune, JAMF
Experience with disk encryption including Bitlocker
Experience with inventory management using a CMDB
Experience troubleshooting including DNS, DHCP, AD group policy, TCP/IP, and the ability to correlate and analyze logs
Experience with a compliance framework such as AS9100, NIST 800-171, PCI
Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision, excellent time management, and leadership and motivational skills.

Familiarity with legacy hardware and software such as Windows 7, NT, XP.
Business needs and trade compliance requirements mandate that this position be held by a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
Mixed work environment between office and manufacturing production areas. Able to carry up to 35 pounds and able to work in a variety of spaces including wiring closets, and production areas with provided required PPE. Ability to climb ladders and perform physical tasks occasionally, such as installing or troubleshooting equipment in elevated locations.
