As an Insurance Claims Specialist, you'll be responsible for creating, auditing, and submitting insurance claims while maintaining compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficient Insurance Claim Submission: Create and submit insurance claims for all private insurance billing, strictly adhering to billing schedules to ensure timely processing and reimbursement.

  • Claims Documentation Audits: Conduct audits of claims documentation to ensure accuracy of charges related to diagnosis and codes, maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Reporting System Maintenance: Maintain an up-to-date reporting system on insurance billings, processing timelines, and payment status, providing transparency and accountability in billing processes.

  • Claims Follow-Up: Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, submitting appeals within industry time frames as needed, advocating for reimbursement and resolution of outstanding balances.

  • Timely Reporting: Deliver timely reports to supervisors and executive

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • High School diploma with courses in typing and business practices.

  • At least three (3) years of experience in a bookkeeping position.

  • At least two (2) years of experience in an insurance billing position.

  • Basic knowledge of medical coding and third-party operating procedures.

  • Excellent 10-key and alphanumeric data entry skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in common word processing, spreadsheet, database, and web-based applications.

Required License/Certification:

  • Current and active Missouri pharmacy technician license (or ability to obtain).

Additional Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy technician certification preferred.

  • Previous experience and training in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred.

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.

  • Prior experience with the 340B drug program preferred.
