11 Mile Truck Frame & Axle Heavy Duty Frame Technician in Madison Heights, Michigan
- Examine vehicles to diagnose repair & assist in repair estimate process.
- Proficient at metal straightening, overhauling major assemblies& structural repair.
- Accurately measure frames for mash/side sway/collapse/diamond conditions anddocument section frames at factory specked areas (lengthen or shorten).
- Perform front and/or rear alignments.
- Repair/replace suspension & components as needed.
- Repair, replace, and/or straighten frame rails.
- Straighten bent frames with pneumatic frame straightening machine to factory specifications.
- Possess knowledge of mechanical repair, technical ability to diagnose & correctly repair damage.
- Obtain the ability to read and follow repair order.
- Maintain work order activity reports throughout the repair process.
- Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
- Strong Communication Skills: reporting supplemental needs (parts or labor), target date changes, hidden/missed damage, hazardous working conditions, damaged tools, etc.
- Repair frames & section unibody.
- Perform welding, soldering, body alignment and oxidizing operations.
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Perform all repairs to company standards & procedures.
- Must have a good work attitude, cooperation & teamwork.
- Use discretion in using company materials and supplies.
- Pickup and organize work area at end of business day.
Understands and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as the disposal of hazardous waste.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly.

Qualifications:
- Technical certification or degree
- State/ASE Certification
- CDL License preferred.
- Experience working with diagnostic computers.
- Achieved 5 years of frame repair experience in either a heavy truck shop or insurance carrier.
- Verifiable work history
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Understanding and compliance with safety rules and practices as well as posted work rules and procedures
