Job Description
Senior Specialist, Public Affairs is responsible for identifying opportunities and execution of internal and external TA (Therapeutic Area) public relations program aligned with global and local TA Brand Plan, under manager’s supervision.
S(he) will contribute to protecting and enhancing company reputation as well as employee engagement through various TA communications and patient relations activities.
Closely working with internal and external key stakeholders, he/she will plan and implement communication activities that effectively describe and deliver the key messages around the TA and product through multi-communication channels.
S(he) will build and maintain relationship with Patient Groups and closely work with them as a partner to improve the healthcare environment in respective TA.
Collaborating with Global and Area teams to ensure alignment in TA and/or product key communications activities, he/she will work with other functions as a member of TA brand team to drive cross-divisional and integrated communications.
Major Responsibilities:
Execute effective communication strategy aligned with global and local TA Brand Plans
Build strong media relations and deliver key brand messages to targeted media to increase targeted media exposures
Increase internal and external stakeholder engagement through TA communications
Contribute to building patient centric mindset within the company through patient relations activities
Build strong media relations and deliver key brand messages to targeted media to increase targeted media exposures
Contribute to achieving Business Unit/Brand Team goals as communications strategic partner
Ensure all patient relations activities are conducted in accordance with compliance, law/codes and brand guidelines and other internal/industry rules.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Abilities:
Fluent English & Japanese communication skills: reading, writing and speaking
Media relations experience and knowldedge
External and internal communications experience
Multi-media communications experience including digital
Strong commitment to quality and results
Excellent team player and interpersonal skills
Ability to drive for results and translate strategy into flawless execution
Ability to implement activities across a multi-functional team to achieve goals
Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
Agency and vender management skills
Knowledge of industry laws, regulations, and guidelines
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree+ is preferable
More than 3 years’ experience in communications
Agency management experience
Pharmaceutical experience or medical industry experience is preferable, including experience in PR agency working with pharmaceutical/medical industry client
Experience in working with Commercial environment
Experience in working in diverse, multi-national environment
