Job Description

One of our largest banking clients is looking for a Tax Analyst/Associate to join the U.S. Tax Reporting and Analysis team in New York City. The U.S. Analytics and Reporting team analyzes, advises, and supports the activities, operations, reporting obligations and transactions of the firm's business lines to ensure that tax consequences and reputational risks are evaluated appropriately. Other key functions of this team include the preparation of state and local tax returns for the firm and providing tax information for the firms' financial statements.

The Tax Analysts on this team are responsible for the preparation of state tax returns for the firm's subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with state-specific tax regulations, and interacting with various departments within the firm to collect the necessary information to calculate and properly report taxable income and required statements/disclosures for the firm's operations both domestically and internationally. On a quarterly basis, analysts on this team are calculating quarterly estimates of taxable income specific to state tax returns and payments in timely compliance with state tax obligations and are performing ASC-740 calculations.

The ideal candidate is one that has between 2-4 years experience within U.S. Tax compliance/accounting from a large consulting or banking firm, has experience working with international tax compliance, is a team player with strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and has proficient Excel skills. This role is fully onsite, 5 days a week in their New York City office.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

• 1 - 4 years of tax compliance or tax accounting experience

• Experience with U.S. State, Local, and/or Federal Tax returns and payments

• International Tax Compliance experience

• Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency

• Able to work multi-task, communicate effectively, has strong attention to detail, and analytical skills * Advanced degree in Accounting or Tax preferred, but not required.

• CPA preferred null
