American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) team enables businesses globally to pay for and finance what they need to grow their businesses. GCS provides a suite of payment and lending products, solutions for travel and everyday business spending, cross border payments, global currency solutions, and business financing.
As our customers are changing the way they work and pay, we have been evolving with them by developing B2B partner-embedded and automated payment solutions so that we are seamlessly coordinated into customer ecosystem. The B2B Solutions team is focused on building a new business model, key partnerships, value propositions, and go-to-market plans that will address all customer segments, from Small businesses to Large and Global clients, to create new opportunities for us to capture B2B spend through these ecosystem partners, such as AP Automation partners, Accounting and ERP software providers, as well as procurement platforms & networks. This business has doubled in customers and volume over the last few years and requires focused attention on customer experience management and overall roadmap prioritization and planning.
As such, the Director, Digital B2B Product Risk Assessment, Remediation, and Management will lead a team passionate about ensuring that we have robust compliance, controls, and governance as we build and enhance our B2B product suite. The goal of this team is to effectively partner across the enterprise and within our product teams to help us deliver best-in-class B2B products while maintaining a continued focus on our rigorous compliance, controls, governance, and monitoring processes.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Lead a diverse team of dedicated colleagues and external consultants with experience across operational risk, product governance, product controls and monitoring, and B2B product operations
Lead and PMO large-scale operational risk assessment engagements in collaboration with teams across the enterprise and with external experts to analyze and enhance existing processes, controls, and product operations for all B2B products (i.e. BIP, AP Automation partnerships, One AP, ACH, etc.).
Create a roadmap and timeline to lead the implementation of results and recommendations as the output from these large-scale risk assessment engagements. This includes partnering closely with all impacted collaborators to ensure product, controls, monitoring, governance, and process enhancements are deployed within timelines and within budget
Collaborate closely with key B2B Product partners such as the Network team, Operational Excellence, Compliance, and GCO to maintain a strong focus on elevating management awareness and organizational risk culture
Partner with B2B Product teams, the Network, Operational Excellence, Compliance, and General Counsel (GCO) to ensure products and processes align with applicable laws, regulations and policies supported by meticulous testing
Identify trends, themes and tendencies that indicate emerging operational risk by analyzing data and trends across metrics, loss event data and external events
Drive a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications:
Experienced, credible leader with 15 years of financial services-related experience; must have experience within product, operational risk, project management, and operational process management
Outstanding critical thinking, insight and judgment, with shown ability to navigate through ambiguity to build structure, ask the right questions and synthesize complex inputs into clear recommendations and advise on direction in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills, and business acuity to advise executive leadership
Analytical, with proficiency in qualitative and quantitative analysis
Project management skills and strong change management experience driving projects forward
Outstanding presentation skills – both written and verbal – with comfort presenting to audiences of all levels
Proven ability to both focus on high level strategy and delve in the weeds on detailed operations
Experience leading teams in a matrixed organization and comfortable leading senior level partners
Bachelor's degree

Qualifications
Salary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
