Our Power Academy, based in the Raleigh, NC, area is dedicated to imparting cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the field of protection and control schemes, communication network technologies, and system network architecture. Siemens Electrification and Automation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrification & Automation (EA) Product Trainer to join our growing team as we expand our global Power Academy footprint in the US.

The Power Academy is in start-up mode, and it’s a very exciting time to join this new team. Power Academy opens its doors to participants in January 2024. It will also be a part of our brand-new Customer Experience Center, which is currently under construction. There is a lot of excitement and anticipation for the value we will bring to our employees and customers.

We are looking for an Associate Project Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC but can be remote.

Overview:

The Siemens Project Management Office (PMO) is looking for a Project Manager (APM) to join our team in Electrification and Automation (EA). As an APM, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Management team for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Headquartered in Wendell, NC, the EA PMO executes a diverse portfolio of projects, and this position will be focused on Large Solutions, including medium-voltage power distribution equipment packaging and services. The APM role comes with ample opportunities for growth, reflective of Siemens mission to empower people with a growth mindset. As a customer facing team, we keep customer satisfaction at the forefront as we manage large projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the project manager during all phases of the project including milestone deliverables, documentation, case management and financial aspects.

  • Drive support with the Customer Care team in creating use cases to assure project acceptance and customer satisfaction.

  • Develop and deliver monthly status reports, customer progress reports, customer change proposals, and presentations to management and internal / external stakeholders on an as needed basis.

  • Drive final customer acceptance milestone including completion of all documentation requirements, gear acceptance and closing financial documentation requirements.

  • Able to navigate construction management software applications like BIM 360, Prosource etc.

  • Attending to the assigned issues and triaging it to the respective stakeholder.

  • Co-ordinating and following up on action items and completion to ensure timely resolution and closeout of issues/RFI.

  • Triage site issue cases and reassigning to its correct owner per its merit.

  • Checking completeness of site issue/cases.

  • Reviewing Dashboard for movement in KPIs and supporting assigned owners in steps to recover.

  • Preparing executive overview of open site cases.

  • Responsible for tracking and updating the construction Management tool and reporting it back to the project /program team.

  • Accountable for issue closeout accuracy

  • 10% Travel required (national and international)

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of power distribution; ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications.

  • 1+ years of relevant experience managing similar portfolios.

  • Relevant experience in Power distribution industry either Medium voltage or High voltage.

  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes and develop innovative solutions for execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management or engineering internship or related work experience in Power distribution industry.

  • PMP certification as a plus

  • PMP certification is required within 1 year of employment

  • The pay range for this position is $59,430 - $101,880 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary if you have a PMI certification. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
